I went out to see the eagles yesterday, but only saw them flying about for their morning hunt way off in the distance. I did learn that there are three of them, they are here year round, and I can come down to look for them and sit as long as I want. So that’s good to know.
Late last week I received back the photos from my test shots with the light box and the flash. I’m very pleased with the results, and I’m hoping to make the larger light box next week. Way back last February, shortly after I’d started the blog, I posted a photo of some of my favorite candy. That shot was taken out in the sunlight. Quite a comparison between the two.
Wow on the Eagle watching, and hope to see some photos of them here sometime in the future.
The sprees in this shot look less dynamic than the photo from last year.

Interesting comparison between the two. Although, I actually like the colors in the other shot better, it's obvious that the light box did work quite well for this shot.
Intersting shots ! Nice colors !
I like this shot, but I actually like the other one better. I liked the pattern and the colors contrasting with the deep shadows.
just to clarify, was the light box used in this shot?...prefer it to last year's...
Oh sure make my mouth water!!!!!!! I love spree's!
but you knew that LOL
I really like this shot well composed and lighting is nice.
I like the sunlight shot for the vibrant and detailed colors. The light box does give even light and will give you gobs of great pictures.
Ah, yes, these light boxes are going to allow for some cool, smooth modeling experiments . . I see frog portraits a’comin’!
Fantastic colors; a lively image with lots of visual energy.
Vibrant colors and details. Nice choice, Mickie!
one of my favorite candies :o) never thought of taking a photo of them, though! great idea, micki :o)
Yummy! That's a good picture. I thought about making one of those boxes for myself. They look pretty easy to make!
sugary goodness
Great color, and cool idea. Very original. Nice job
I love candy.
There is a HUGE difference Micki. I really love the vibrancy of colours in the light box shot. Just beautiful.
MMMMM I love sprees! Everyone I know hates them so I usually end up with a bulk of them around Halloween.
Colorful and sweet!
huge difference, lighting is so important to a good photo, which is what you've achieved here!
being on a diet it doesn't help to have my mouth watering through looking at this shot!!
Cool colors in here!
I like the way you capture such simple objects. Got to start doing stuff like these :)

It's been a looooong time since I've had this candy. Just thinking about the tartness makes me shiver. Very colorful shots - I like BOTH versions!
Huge difference, surely this shot has a more studio feel and i like it.
yeah huge difference, the light box is giving you such soft shadows compared to the sunlight
Definitely more of a studio feel here - love the glossiness of the candies in this shot.
I love Spree! I wish i had a bathtub full of them to roll around in they are so happy!
I put a whole handfull in my mouth and let the sugar take me away!
