I went out this morning, despite the weather forecast calling for clear skies; I though maybe, just maybe, a few clouds would show up and make for a better sunrise. I did a couple long exposures at twilight and then I was just walking around looking for compositions that might be good if the sunrise proved worthy. As time went by, the sky became more and more washed out and I was regretting getting up to go out. Then I found my shot. Isn’t that a good feeling? I’m hoping with a couple of grad ND filters and a slight underexposure that things turned out well. While composing those shots, a couple of comical seagulls showed up and allowed me to get quite close to them for a few too many shots as well. I had to be home by 8:00 so my husband could leave, and because I was late in leaving for home (as usual) I had to drive pass a buzzard and then two deer on the way home…all of whom never flew or ran when I slowed down to take a better look. Rats! Oh well, next time. I showed up almost ten minutes late as it was.
So, we’re back to normal Take a Guess Sundays. Time to start a guessin’
OK, not really a screw, some type of a drywall anchor?
Happy Sunday Micki!!

It's a screw! The depth of field is really insane. Can't wait to see some of the sunrise.
I say screw. Very cool perspective.
definitely a screw...lovely macro...
Looks like a screw to me too.
I got out at 6:30 this am too for some sunrise action and for the first time ran into another photographer :) glad to know you were out there too a hundred or so miles to the north!
Looks like a screw to me too Micki. Looking forward to those sunrise photos.
A bishop from a sterling silver chess set?
Some kind of bolt or screw?
Definitely a screw. I should know, I have a screw or two loose.
At first glance, I thought it was a door knob but I guess it could be a bolt of some sort. Good shot any way.
I agree with above poster... my first thought was door knob. Final answer!
Chess peice :)
One day I will guess right :)
Suby
It's what the butler used, in the drawing room, with the blood and fingerprints wiped off it (obviously)
I feel its not screw. It cannot be so easy. I would vote for a chess pawn instead. Anyways, nice shot !
Being late to the party, I'll not venture a guess - however, I'm loving the perfect ambiguity here, like the illusion where the corner of a cube appears also to be the point where two walls meet the ceiling...
This is a super image, great colours and use of limited dof.
A screw with a twist.
