Shot this early one Saturday morning back in September. This is the beach in Yorktown looking out onto where the York River and Chesapeake Bay meet.
That 30 secs thru the NDs has allowed the sky and water to fully work their wonders here and I love that first suggestion of the day’s color you have creeping in from the east.
I love the soft brushed quality of the sky in this shot.
Beautiful long exposure shot, Micki. Just lovely.
What a lovely soft image. Well done Micki.
This one should be large and on a wall.
Another winner.

i really like this long exposure look. i am wondering about the grains. does it have anything to do with the quality of the film that you were using?
Lovely image. Subtle indeed.

Micki!!! That is so wonderful. So placid. So peaceful. So .... I don't know! Beautiful cloud movement and everything. I love it!
I particularly like the diagonal from lower left and the curve along that line. You know how I like the curves!

Wow, Micki! The clouds in this shot really look more like a painting than anything. Also, I love the apparent stillness of the water. The texture is perfect. Great colors as well!
Very nice study, love the sky.
simply gorgeous shot - i love the sea, i love beaches, i love the sunrise: i love this one!
That is a downright gorgeous shot!
This is a beautiful image, you have balanced the ground and sky so well, a cool long exposure.
Beautiful shot - There are many different elements I like about this photograph. The colors are beautiful. the soft time-swept clouds are perfect. This is my favorite thus far, but then I am partial to landscapes. - R.
Supremely calming - the shoreline leads us right into the shot.
