FRIDAYS ARE FOR ABSTRACT IMAGES, SPECIALTY FILM, OR SPECIALTY CAMERA IMAGES -- Abstract Pegs 2

I took three different shots earlier in the summer of “abstract pegs.” This is the second in the series. If you’re really interested and you want to see the first, I posted it awhile back here: Abstract Pegs 1

Patty asked yesterday what my family thought on my photography and my blog. Well, lit’s kind of my thing, the family really isn’t interested. My youngest daughter has a natural eye, but she has caught “the bug” just yet. I’m waiting on her. So I either go out shooting before everyone wakes up or in the afternoons when the oldest are at music lessons, and when it’s just me and my youngest children who really don’t have much of a say. If I go out at other times, I’m usually met with looks of disapproval or fear that someone might be dragged along. I do most of my blog visits before everyone gets up. My husband couldn’t tell you today if I still had a blog. My kids almost never see the pictures I post and could really care less what I am posting. Unless I shove the prints right in their faces, the family never sees my work. And I don’t share with them often, because the looks of disinterest or confusion can kind of take the wind out of the sails. But that’s not their job to be my cheerleader. I enjoy what I’m doing, that’s what matters most; and all of your comments and words of support are so encouraging. You all don’t know how much they mean to me. :o) << Me smiling wide every day.

I have to say, I am getting to love your abstract Friday images more and more. Maybe It will tempt me to dable more into the macro abtract side.

Family, I think they only check when I go over to their houses and I use their PC's and then they go oh new pictures? How many times do i s ay I post up a new image everday? Will never get them :) Well as long as you enjoy it, not ot worry, when you are more world famous and bringing in the $s, they will definitely pay more attention.

Suby

Suby.

Have a lovely weekend.

Abstracts are lots of fun to do. I do a lot of them but for whatever reason I don't post very many of them.

I like the DOF on this one.

You know the only time my husband ever looks at my blog is if i send him the link and tell him to look at something specific! LOL

My kids would rather stay away from my photo's they are afraid I may take one of them hehehe.

Micki, nice shot. Those still look like little gumdrops to me.
;-)

I guess we see why we need to have blogs. Support. Plain and simple. My wife does give me plenty of support and she looks at my photos every day when she goes to work. So, in that regard, I'm fortunate.

The kids (22 and 14), don't really care. If I show them they'll say that it's "nice", but no further comments.

The younger one, Tony, has a passing interest in photography, but, like your daughter, hasn't caught the bug.

I've been busy the last several days, thanks for dropping in while I was gone. Love coming home to your comments.

I was trying to work out what it was but then thought that that is not the point, just to appreciate it as a work of art....in which case it should be hanging in a gallery :-)

Very well done Micki! Visits to your page are always so rewarding!

PS. Thanks for the avatar compliments! I was told I was too brooding in B&W and looked like I was in an army uniform (it was a rainsuit LOL!) in my other one...so here's me getting a cold one outta the fridge! Can't get much more natural than that! :D

Another abstract winner. The more simple these are, the more impact they have and the basic colors and formation clinch the deal for me.

You've got to have something "all your own" to claim within your life, especially when you have kids and a family to take care of.
It's good to have an outlet, passion or hobby -- it's important to remember that we are more than the sum of who we are to someone else; easy to forget and neglect in day to day life.

I admire your consistency in posting, shooting and working. You've always been very consistent.
Besides, you have us as "cheerleaders" for you.

Btw.. nice photo. Like the depth of field in this one, lends it a very mysterious edge..

These pegs still read as Good-n-Fruity candies to me - yum-a-licious! Eagerly awaiting 'Abstract Pegs 3' :-)

Aren't all of us in the photoblogging community part of a large, extended family? :-)
