Hubby bought us a new monitor yesterday, it’s large and flat. Very cool, just what I didn’t need to help me with my blogging addiction. Anyway, it’s really going to cost him, even though he got it tax free (it’s tax free back to school shopping weekend in Virginia, and a lot of businesses are getting in on the act), and there’s a rebate; on this larger monitor, I can now see how poor the quality of my scans really are. Now I’m definitely going to want a new scanner, and it’s going to cost a whole lot more than this monitor did.
Open up that wallet, Daddy! Mamma wants a new toy!
Take a Guess #22 today. Have a great one!
Things I’m Thankful to Cliff For… Your kindness to “strangers.”
Is it licorice?
There's always some new electronic toy to get, isn't there? :)
Concerning this, hmm... I'm not sure. My first thought was that it might a close-up of a flower petal.
i'm stumped on this one! all i know is that its red....
big monitors are heavenly.
I'm pretty sure its a piece of clothing (i hope to god its not a tongue)....pretty neat..
Micki, I have no clue what that is. At first, I thought that it was some type of ribbed hose that had torn somewhere, but that's all that I could come up with.
Oh, and if "Daddy" is in the money spending mood and "Momma" needs a new scanner, I would highly recommend one of the Epson Perfection scanners. They can transparencies, photos, negatives (no more printing costs!), etc. I have an Epson Perfection 3200. I've had it for about 2 years. It's great.
Looks like fabric...the cuff of a red sock perhaps, or some other ribbed part of a piece of cloth or clothing. Cool shot.
I don't even want to talk about electronics anymore...ugh...they have been giving me a pain in the neck and the wallet!
Congrats on the new flat screen! Do you have a certain scanner in mind? I have been thinking of the Epson Perfection 4490. I see that Paul is happy with his 3200. I love new toys!
My first reaction was rhubarb but now I'm not sure. I never get these right.
I have a shopping list of tech toys that my partner just cringes at whenever it happens to come into conversation. LOL. I am no longer allowed at Best Buy/Wolf Camera either.. btw..
Okay, I'll have to say it's the arm of a couch or chair.
Great shot either way, in the abstract sense.
Today's is really a stumper! My brain can't decide if this is floral or textile - wonderfully abstract, nonetheless.
Some kind of woollen textile?
And congrats on your new monitor. Retail therapy always works. :p
Some sort of thread spool maybe? This one is hard.. Congrats on the monitor, That's great! If you went digital you wouldn't need a scanner though!
I would guess licorice. Lovely colour. Now what is it????
look like closed up shot of twizzlers:-P or can be a sorbet or gelato icecream...:-))
Ahhh but isn't it lovely to have a GOOD monitor??? Good luck with getting a better scanner.
I think this is a hard-boiled sweet. Yum.
I'm going to guess a spool of thread.
These are always so good. I can never guess.
Some kind of sweetskkmf.
Lovely color! But no clue on what it is.
Wow, very cool shot, but its not easy to guess what it is. maybe its flower, however lovely color :) take care :)
No, I have not a clue what this is. Not even attracted by the other guesses . . . lost . .
Carpet?
yes dad ! she has a great need for that. she is worth it :D
have a nice day ;)
Well seems like you are stuck in catch 22.
Very nice texture! I've taken a look in your blog and i've seen a couple of interesting shots. Thank you for your comments in my blog.
(I apologise for my poor english.)
Strawberry strands (type of sweet/candy). Nice detail and colour.
Looks like a spool of red twine? Once you go big and flat with monitors, you never go back :)
A tongue!
some sort of fabric. congrats on the monitor. I just got one too, and it sure is sweet.
Is this a piece of meat? LOl

Hi Micki,
No idea!
As for scanning... why? I have my film put directly on to disk when it is processed. From the jpeg format I can change to RAW of TIF or whatever I want or need. It's cheap and easy to store.
I'm wanting a new monitor too, but as I am presently job hunting, I guess it will have to wait. My old Sony Trinitron is just going to have to do awhile longer. I am envious!
I will be picking up last week's film today. Should have a good post (I hope) up later today.
Cheers!
