Heading out to Busch Gardens with the fish eye today. A different perspective on the amusement park.
So, this big guy was crossing the driveway when my animal lover kid and I were coming home from her swim lessons. It was her birthday, too, so this was a great little gift for her.
Don’t let anyone fool you, these guys are quick. We had to work fast to catch him. She kept him in a blue bucket on the front porch for a day. Finally I said we had to release him, too big to keep for a pet. I got some great images before he ran off. This is one of the first shots I took, he was so anxious to get out of the bucket, until I stuck my camera in his face. Then he wouldn’t come out. I’ll share more images over time. Suby, it was almost another bug shot today, I hope you can handle tortoises better.

Things I’m Thankful to Cliff For… Long weekends at “the farm.” No indoor plumbing and lots of hard work…lessons well learned.
i love photos that make me smile. this one did.
It is a rather intense look. Cool shot.
OMG! That is so cute -- yet kinda frightening at the same time. Nice capture!
Love the expression on his face and the detail.
cool shot!
I've loved turtles ever since I was child. Great shot!
Regards,
Jason
You don't see a tortoise shot for a long time and then what happens? 2 come along in the space of 2 days :)
Have a look at Faustinas image here http://www.alittlepieceoftheworld.com/page/2/
yep i can handle the little fella, bugs I really dislike :)
Eeeeeccck, looking at the shot again, he looking at me as if he wants to steal my soul.. Nooooooo.
Okay yes I know I have an ever imaginative mind LOL
Suby
This shot put a smile on my face to:)
I’ve never thought of a tortoise looking fierce but here it is! Very rare to see one of these in the UK, now, as they are not native and import has been tightly controlled. They can be bought for around $300 but not as fine-looking as this one. What a lovely birthday surprise.
love the colours micki. that particular shade of blue contrasts well with the red in the eyes. the only critters we get around here are bears and boy do they stink.
I think he might be the only one with that look, all the rest are so lazy and really don't care ;-) Great head on shot, love the intense look and the colors are lovely!
It looks so comically stunned haha. :) i hope you guys could tame it. Sometimes captured tortoises could be very nasty. Be careful not to let it get a bite of you, too.
awwwwwwwwwwwww LOL got to love a kids love for animals! Great shot!
Absolutely prehistoric - that gaze - especially nice at the larger size, leaping out of the screen. Critteriffic!
What a gorgeous fella! I can see why your daughter wanted to keep him.
It seems to be very angry...
Absolutely beautifully taken, I love the unique capture of this cute turtle. With the blue background, it looks like out of a Pixar made movie.
I'm trying to catch on your previous photographs. I was pretty busy, and still busy these weeks, thanks for your comment on "The Spin", I'm happy you liked it :-).
HA!!! I laughed out loud when I first looked at this...from the expression on his face, it looks like you caught him in the act of doing something lewd! LOL!!
For a turtle, he does seem to have quite an expression on his face. Great "capture".
Very expressive!
Michael
cool shot...look at his eyes!!! i like the blue bucket..nice color contrast:-) love it:-)
LOVE it! I also took a shot of a turtle as you know they have a special meaning for me!Your child I think is a kindred spirit of naturegirl!! :)Hurray another generation to be keeper of the animals!
What an incredible photo Micki. This critter looks like he's raging mad and those claws look very sharp. You have captured his colouring and patterns beautifully. Great photo.
Cute but scary!
Another shot of a tortoise (fasutina did one too)....nice capture....7.5/10
At the right moment and in addition with an exquisite clearness. It enchants to me.
Cool! Love the expression on his face :)
Awwww very cute, and love the blue!
Eek! He gives off a very scary vibe... A fine image, nonetheless!
Who you looking at! A fellow can't even have a bath in private. Nice shot.
