MACRO MONDAY -- Petunia

Yesterday’s Image was the clasp to a gold chain bracelet my dad gave me upon graduation from high school twenty years ago this week! Feeling a little aged, Phil, Jasp, Marc, Otto, Bob…you all need to help me out here.

I really could’ve posted today’s image on Abstract Fridays. With the limited focus on the one plane, it almost appears as if the pollen is suspended in mid-air. This was one of the first shots I took with all three extension tubes attached to the lens. I had just bought six petunia seedlings. One of the blooms fell off during planting. Some critter dug up all the plants over time and they are all gone. At least I got some shots from this little bloom.

Went out to shoot the full moon last night. Dragged all the kids and their friend, despite the mostly cloudy skies. We never saw the moon, but it was a beautiful evening. I did take some night shots, so it wasn’t a complete loss. Today, it’s raining cats and dogs, but no matter. It’s my oldest’s 15th birthday! I’ve been a Mom for 15 years now.

OMG, guys, I’ve feeling aged again.

Micki...don't feel old, your just a kid! LOL (I can say that I've got 5 years on you. I graduated in 81...shhh...don't tell anyone.)

They do grow up fast. I can't believe my oldest will be 21 in a few months. Yikes!

This shot is really lovely. It almost looks like the pollen is shooting out of the flower.

I forgot to mention my middle guys 16th birthday is this Sunday!

He's going to a wedding in North Carolina and will be playing piano for it. So I won't see him on his birthday until very late. *sigh*

I love these extension tube shots you take. I still have the tubes for my old film Pentax bodies . . you’ve set me thinking, as you often do. Nice deep colors you have in this one.

Micki. Beautiful colour and, as you say, the pollen looks like it is suspended. Well shot.

I still have the tickets from my high school graduation - Monday, June 9th 1986. Don't call it age - call it wisdom :-)

This is gorgeous - a hidden world revealed...

Sorry for the delay but have been travelling for a week. If it makes you feel any younger my eldest daughter is 24 and my youngest 19..they keep me young but sometimes make me feel old :-).

I thought this picture was an eye the first time I glanced it...flowers have so many possibilities to give a colourful and abstract display...well at least when you take them anyway :-)
