It’s Sunday, that means it’s TAKE A GUESS DAY! Here’s your shot for today….take your best guess!!
* This shot came from the last roll of film I had developed at my old lab. Two rolls had these scratches running right down almost every photo. They had scratched the negatives, so the photos were ruined. I am so happy with my new lab; they’ve been around forever, their prices are fair, and the turn around is fantastic. They have on-line photo albums to share with friends and family, and they’ve moved into the digital world. I would check them out if you need prints. Their link is in the right had column.
Van Gogh has been looking for this everywhere and all the time it was in your kitchen cupboard, Micki. Naughty, naughty.
...or did it drop off when you listened to my gagaku clips?
Nasty scratches but cool abstract I actually guessed this one correctly for once ;-)
Darn, somebody took my Van Gogh line!
Hey, I'm telling you, get the negatives digitized when you get your developing done. The discs are so much easier to work with. With Photoshop, or Photoshop Elements, you can save any particular image in high res later. Should you want to print one, you can put in high res (350 pixel/inch) and .tif. I put the negatives away in the odd event I will ever need them again and I don't have a bazillion prints laying around.
There is a little Coffee House named "Van Gogh's Ear" not too far from me and that's what came to mind when I saw it. (If it weren't for the little hairs, it could be mistaken for a finger with light behind it at a glance.) Nice one.
My first guess was a thumb. But I believe that it's a beautiful lit ear.
I'm with Eterisk. I first thought finger, but then I thought it looked like an ear.
Haha that's the Mushroom of St Bevelle, found only in the Forest of Eskalon... Just kiddin'. :)
Gotta be quick to get a van Gogh joke in here.
I like it being a little soft, as well.
It looks like a finger. I like the approach you chose.
Me thinks its the ear!
I'd say ear, too, the upper part of the shell to be exact. What did I win? :-)
Looks like a thumb to me. Its a hard one I think!
I'm saying an ear. A nice ear too.
definitely ear and not corn
An ear! :O)
Lend us an ear?
Agree with the others - close-up of an ear.
looks like an ear to me! =D nice shot.
finger...
Beautiful abstract, micki. I guess it's an ear. :-)
i'm going for the ear. nice capture.

Easy once again. An ear (although for a split second there I thought it was a thumb) :) Good shot.
Suby
P.s
When you going digital?
Don't go digital. If it's not broke don't fix it. You take lovely shots, very compelling.
yeah a thumb or an ear - wither way cool picture - i think hte scratches give it some sort of edginess - altho i can ssee how it would be extremely annoying on other photos
ohhh, i always wait for this shots!!! heheh :D definately is an ear!!! Great shot!!!! i love the focus, lighting and angle!!
a thumb? i like the scratch..give a senese of original, it's yr trademark:-)
an ear, but why does it look so far away from the head? are you being tricky?
really neat, kind of creepy though and i think you have managed very well to get both feelings captured:)
It looks weird, either as an ear or a finger. Focus is very sharp on the top, wide aperture? Good lighting and close-up. Bottom blackness is the fault?
It's got to be an ear. Anyway, great macro...no matter what it is. Excellent eye and execution. You're a beauty, Micki! Cheers!
Whose ear is that?
errr...an ear lobe?
no idea...
Maybe it is not even a human part ;) Very puzzling if this i sthe case.
Looks like an ear to me.
Ear!
Like this Micki! Keep it real with the film, it if wasn't for the cost of processing I too would stick with the old film!
I gotta go with the ear
Well, Blogger has been down for almost a day now I guess. I haven't been able to put up my first Macro Mondays post, but if they get this all taken care of before Tuesday, I'll post. Until then, I've been outside shooting with my new extension tubes! I'll have plenty of Macro Monday shots for weeks to come! Regarding the answer to this post:
It is my son’s ear, the top of it…shot it while he was sleeping. No flash, just the glow from the lamp behind him, hence the warm tones. I guess the visitors to my blog are just way too quick and clever! They are also fantastic photographers and probably all pretty darn good looking!! (Hope everyone is smiling and ready for a new week now! Consider that your pep talk.)
Very original, this perfect one.
The ears have it!
an ear!
Way too easy then ;)
