Sunset in B&W

Shot this one last year with that cheap Kodak B&W that develops in color chemicals. That roll turned out well. This was about ten minutes before sunset. It was a fairly long exposure, as you can tell from the burst of the sun. Long for a direct shot into the sun, that is.

Minolta Maxxum 7000 Kodak C-41 B&W 1/250 f-22 Shutter Priority I think I used the Sigma 35-135mm zoom lens

Now, regarding yesterday's photo. My new van is a Toyota Sienna -- seats eight, just in case. The headlight is filthy now. I live on a dirt road and deep in the woods. The dust, birds, and tree pollen covers my van (not too many garages in the south here in America). I washed the van every weekend down at the carwash last summer. It would get so dirty by time I drove home up the road and driveway, I quite that after two months. Just a waste of my time. I still keep the inside cleaned out weekly, the kids make a mess every time they get in.

Interesting! There two shots in one, the horizon seems to be dividing the photograph into two halves, and each of these halves would make amazing 'stand alones'. Very simple, yet so very elegant. Me likes!

Tena koe ehoa
Very isolated moody feel in what looks like a sombre and solitary place.

I like this micki! Really pretty use of the black and white for a scene usually shot in color.

This image has a great composition, the sharpness in the foreground balances the vignette type effect of the sky. I also think the star effect of the sun is real good too.

this is really nice. just goes to show that it's more about the photographer than the equipment, huh? the composition on this is what really makes it work for me, and i love it in b&w!
