I knew the sunrise on the morning of this week’s pictures wasn’t going to be spectacular due to the lack of clouds in the sky. So I decided the trick would be to zoom in close and use it as a background to paint a picture. So that’s what I did with today’s photo. This is one of the many trees that line the walk along the beachfront. By the way, this beach was completely destroyed by Hurricane Isabel a couple years back and had to be all redone before it could be opened to the public. The work they are doing there is almost complete, and it looks wonderful! OK, maybe the pub could use a little work, but it is right there on the shoreline getting all that moist salt air. That can take a toll on a building’s exterior.
Little disappointed on how this one scanned in, not sharp like the print. Sorry about that. Minolta Maxxum 7000 Kodak Ultra Color ISO 400 1/15 f-22 Aperture Mode Sigma 70-300mm zoom @ 85mm
*Well, I really thought today’s image was going to load on Blogger, but it didn’t.
My comment box wasn't working this morning, and so I had made a second post with today's comments regarding this photo. Blogger has their comments boxes back working again, so I deleted that post. Gregg Peterson of My Chicago had made a nice comment on today's photo on that post. It was deleted along with the post, of course. Be sure to check out his site today....he has some beautiful photos of Chicago on there. My Chicago
Micki, you'd captured some nice colours across the horizon. I like the long grass (sorry, forogt what they are called.) on the bottom left, but I not pleased with the tree. I felt that it was a distraction. :)
I like it. I think it came out real nice. you have a nice balance of colors when there are not many to choose from. Well done.
I like it too:)
Even without clouds, the colour of the sky is truly wonderful and the tree gives a nice feeling:)
Really beautiful chromatic harmony, and the contrasts!! Awesome sunrise!! i love it!!! :D
Wonderful! I love the effect on the horzon. Excuse my ignorance but is Yorktown in NY State ?
Awesome colors! Beautiful composition! Great job micki!
Yorktown pa?
Anyway, it's beautiful. I love shots that could either be sunrise or sunset- only YOU would know :)
What a beautiful sunrise - love the silhouette! cheers ;)
Lovely as always, nice one Micki.
The perfect place for a great photo! Nice!
gorgeous silhouette here!
sublime! just beautiful!
Beautiful... very peaceful landscape! Gorgeous colors & nice contrast !
Wonderful colors, great shot!
Nice effect, the blue and the orange are a nice combination
Beautiful image. Looks very peaceful. You must have been up early!
beautiful colors and composition:-)
Those are very beautiful colours. Love how the orange is juxtaposed against the blue. But i agree with 壁虎 that the tree competes too fiercely for attention. That weakens the picture as a whole.
Wow this is just lovely. The silhouetting is fantastic.
Nice gradation in the sky! Makes me want to get up early and see the sun rise!
OH MY GOSH!! This is gorgeous. The horizon colors couldn't be any better. Send me an email when you get a chance.
Wow. Beautiful! The colors are amazing and the contrast is great. I'm impressed that there's no post-processing. Don't give in to the temptation!
amazing gradient effect and strong silhouettes. it almost looks like a crease in the middle bottom.
I congratulate to you, the photo am spectacular, like everything, the color, the composition...
What a peaceful picture! I just want to sit down and watch the sun rise.
Thank you Micki ;)
I love come here .
I love your graphic work too ;))
Thanks Micki well done sunset too, mine was at 400 5.6, a good lens !
Beautiful colors (especially the water) and the tree makes for almost an abstract object as it is all backlit. I only wish I could see the top of it...
(As an aside, my hat's off to you getting all of these sunrise pics. Do you ever sleep?)
Just look at that sunrise. I'm jealous of your location.
The hues of the sky are great in this shot. I like the silhouette (is that how its spelled?) of the tree!
Good comp Micki, nice image.
You have a clear eye for colour, a wonderful set of pics
lovely photo micki; so tranquil!
How early did you have to get up to shoot this? It's truly beautiful!
Amazing colors!
