I don’t know why I never noticed this old place before. It’s on a little side road off of the main road, but it’s not that difficult to spot.
I always have a plan on Wednesdays on where I want to shoot while the older two daughters are at music lessons. On the way to lessons this Wednesday, I spotted a black and white For Sale sign out of the corner of my eye, and all plans changed!!
It was such a warm day, so I picked up some Frostys for my youngest daughter and her brothers, and they watched a movie on the portable DVD player in the van while I shot happily away at this old house that has apparently been for sale for a long time. I shot a lot of film so you’ll be seeing more of this place in the future. I used a polarizer filter on most of these images because of the bright sunlight that day. The top image I also shot with a red filter instead of the polarizer, which I will post next time. The bottom image is the sign that caught my eye. This is my first roll of Tri-X I’ve shot that was not expired. Very pleased with the range on this film and it is hands down my favorite b&w film to use. I only wish my cheap scanner was able to show what a wonderful film it is.

I thought this was another one of your infrared shots but it's just B&W? Anyway, it's great. Looks sort of creepy. I like that. Makes me afraid to visit your hometown 'cause you've got all these buildings that look creepy.

What a lonely looking house. I think you captured that with these shots. I wonder what the story behind this house is?
Wonderful look with this filter. I admire your houses, be it on infrared, polarized or natural. I am sorry about the cheap scanner, these prints must have the hell of a quality cause they already look awesome enough!

Place these next to the definition of 'Handyman Special' :-) Love the added contrast pop with the red filter, and the second image shows such a range of skew. Tri-X was always my poison back in my film-only days - Tri-X 400 and Polycontrast RC paper was an unbeatable combination.
these two work really well in b/w, there is a great feel about them, has the place been empty for long, you can almost start to see and feel the stories and history to the place.
Nice shots, but thinking channel mixer in photoshop mifght do a good job of adding some contrast.looks bland.
