I took this about nine or ten months ago. I hadn’t had the lens that long and was having fun with macro shots. This was a re-shoot, as the first didn’t come out…underexposed. Anyway, this was a new lens, I was new into the technical side of photography. I can’t believe how much I’ve learned this past year. It all started with an online class at LVS about a year ago. I’d always loved photography, but never really studied it. Now I’m in up to my eyes.
Something exciting to report. When my dad passed down his lenses to me last fall, there was an old roll of Tri-X in the bag. He didn’t remember how long it had been there. I hung on to it. I finally shot this roll last month and mailed it away to be processed. It took two weeks, but I got the prints back yesterday. I am tickled pink with the quality of that film. If that’s what the old film looks like, I can’t wait to see the fresh. This will be my new film of choice for my b&w use. What a range of latitude. I took some high contrast shots in early afternoon, and the exposure was fantastic. They also put a nice little white border around the prints…adds some character. So, I might post one of those tomorrow. I hope they scan in as well as they look.

Oh boy this one looks great. Lovely colours and a great structure. Cheers. Philipp
I have no idea what that is, but definately the colors are amazing.
great colours and feel has real energy to it.. Tony
Okay I give up, what is it? Nice colours
Hmmmm... I haven't got the slightest clue but I love the colours!
Hmmm...Could they be...colored straws?
Very cool.
I have no idea about this as well, it seems that the tip is pretty rough with chips here and there. It's abstract macro!! I like it!
Micki! I want another chance! I guess these are plastic rings from bottles, is it? =D
Tri-X is some good stuff, but my favorite 400 speed film is fuji neopan 400. Its has a little more punch. Give it a try sometime. Experimenting with film is a lot of fun. :)
Colored straws that have been cut off and stacked?
I think Marc's got it! Cool Pic!
Great colors! I'm going with colored straws:)
Excellent Micki, very well spotted, the colours are realy good.
He is spectacular, I congratulate to you.
No idea, but I like it!
I also recommend Neopan 400 - lovely film. Neopan 1600 too, for that matter. (If you feel like trying them out, http://www.unicircuits.com/shop/ sells them cheap from Japan)
Awesome lighting and colors!
Way cool!
My best guess is that they are colourful straws in a glass filled with milk :)
Thats a very good (and difficult) one, wonderful Micky :)
I have no idea ;-)
Nice colorful shot, though!
I'm thinking some sort of sawed off group of conduits, like for phonelines or something like that. In any case, cool and colorful composition.
I vote for cut straws, as well.
Very cool shot.
No idea what they are, but who cares. What great colors and lighting. Well done!
i like colors here...the circle patterns and shadow give the nice depth to the image...great capture:-)
no idea. i think i have never seen it:-p
Nice effect...great colors!
Cool shot...and I have to agree with the many commentors above....straws.
oh . . . straws! that makes sense. i had no clue. nice shot micki - you had me totally curious.
nice abstract, cool colours
I have no clue what it is, but the colours really explode.
Nice macro shot. Tri-X is great, classic film that's been around donkey's years (a very long time)! Got some good lenses also? The thing I was taught at college with Tri-X was to rate it at 320 ASA to get more tone and finer grain, although processing times alter a bit when doing this.
I'm curious, have no idea what it is. Like the colors, nice picture!
interesting colours! ;)
Suby waiting on the post for today :)
Nicely done - love how we can see some light traveling up some of the straws.
When I was first learning years ago with a Pentax K-1000, Tri-X 400 was always my film stock of choice - it also grains up nicely with contrast when push processed to 1600; used to shoot school basketball in existing light that way.
nice pattern and colors
Very colorful shot ;)
