Oh How They Grew

I stepped outside one morning to find this growth of mushrooms next to my van. At first I didn't know what it was...I was looking for the large dog or small horse who left it behind. There were ants crawling all over it, although never on the side I was taking a photo of. ?Camera shy? The top photo is the north side and the bottom is the south.

Both shot with Minolta Maxxum 7000 Kodak Gold ISO 100 1/3 f-8 Aperture Mode Sigma 70-300mm lens

I forgot to mention...thanks for all the feedback yesterday. I had only taken the one shot of those trees, just in case it didn't work out quite right. It did come out exactly as I had planned.

An interesting shot, I can see why initially you were looking for a large dog :-). There could be a few macro shots worth taking in the middle of all that!

I don't like to eat mushrooms, but I do like pictures of them. I especially like the bottom photo.

Micki,
Pretty sharp for 1/3.
I do not like to see mushrooms, but I don't mind them in my food (not too many though).

Isn't it interesting to see how these are stacked up?

I like mushrooms, both in my food and seeing them, I dont know why but they always remind me of stories and fairy tales (Alice in Wonderland maybe?).

Those are high density living mushrooms.... you should juxtapose an apartment building next to this one for a fun statement..... later on.

Mushrooms - up there next to jellyfish as easily one of the strangest living things on our planet. I agree with the previous poster who mentioned that mushrooms always remind him/her of fairytales.
